Dark Elves were once part of the Elven tribes, but were banished after they learned black magic in order to obtain the power to fight Humans. They lost the battle, but continued to study the dark arts. Dark Elves have similar features to their Elven brethren, but are taller, have blue-gray skin, and silver hair. They follow Shilien, the goddess of Death.

Yes, Dark Elves can use bow and arrows.
P.S. i also switch over from FFXI
P.S. i also switch over from FFXI
I'm gonna begin playing Lineage2 anytime soon and I wonder; can Dark elfs use bow and sword, instead of bow and daggers? Dark elf's looks cooler than "normal" elfes... but it's clearly difficult to chose between 'em. I like swords and bow, but not daggers. I prefer Dark elf's look and they seem to have faster attack speed. You guys think I should go for a dark elf?
Thanks!

If you are a Dark Fighter, you will speak to your Master about Path to a Palus Knight or Path to an Assassin.
You can actually do this quest at level 19, complete it and turn 20, go back to Gludio and get your title.
Good luck and have fun =)

This guide will explain the best places to level and what quests to do to get you started on your way. This guide will also explain what spells do what. And monster statistics of what you should hunt at certain levels. This guide stops at level 14. Why? Because you get new spells at level 14. Will I write a guide for after level 14 dark elf mages? If I get enough feedback requesting a guide for it.. Did I proof read this guide? Not with the amount of time and energy I really should've
Skills
Windstrike - Levels 1-3 definitely worth getting to level 3 before going after other spells
Weapon Mastery - Passive skill that will increase the damage your weapon and spells do. Get this skill second.
Armor Mastery - Passive skill that will increase your defense. Get this skill third.
Ice Bolt - Levels 1 and 2. Fast cast medium damage spell. Get these skills fourth.
Heal - Levels 1-3. High HP heal, allows you to heal yourself as well as other people. Get these skills fifth.
Get these skills in any order after you've gotten the ones above...
Curse: Poison - Allows you to poison a creature for reoccuring damage... fails frequently...
Might - Temporarily increases attack power. Intensity 1.
Shield - Temporarily increases defense. Effect 1.
Cure Poison - Cures poison.
Anti-Magic - Levels 1 and 2. Magic resistance increases.
So lets start off where you start off as a Dark Elf mage.. your currently in the Temple of Shilen. You will want to complete the tutorial quest even if you do know how to play because it will give you a World Map. But first.. you must learn how to use your QuickTab bar and your spell... right now you only have two spells, Windstrike and Self Heal.
Click Alt+K to open up your skill tab, active shows you what your able to cast whenever its clicked in the quicktab bar, and passive skills are always running in the background for ya. Drag the active spells to your Quicktab bar in the positions that are easy to hit when your in the heat of battle so if you drag windstrike to the first slot, hitting F1 will activate that spell and if you drag Self heal to slot 2 of the quicktab bar F2 will activate self heal. remember you must have a target before casting windstrike.
If you get stuck on the first quest.. all you have to do is kill 4 or so Keltirs until you have collected 4 quest item fangs.. head back to the NPC that gave you the quest, should showup on your radar, then simply talk to that NPC who will give you Blood of Mitraell, head over to Mitraell who is no more than a 20 or so feet away towards the center of the area, he will give you the world map.
Once you have completed that quest head back outside and kill some Keltirs till you get to level 2, should only be a few kills. You are prolly killing keltirs in 1 windstrike but once you start fighting harder creatures your going to need to cast more than 1 windstrike. dont forget your casting can be interupted by being hit while casting.
Quote: There are 2 Dark Elf Quests that you can do at levels 2 and 3, they will get you offtrack from quick leveling so I'm not gonna cover them as part of the guide, but I will link you to walkthroughs of these quests
Lvl. 2 :: Reward 500exp, 250a :: Dark Elven Village http://lin.warcry.com/index.php/content/db_php/questd.php?id=166
Lvl. 3 :: Reward 450a :: Dark Elven Village http://lin.warcry.com/index.php/content/db_php/questd.php?id=168
http://www.t0ad.com/suprnova/mps_map2.jpg <-- URL to map..
Using the map levels 1-6 should be spent in the LIGHT Blue area fighting the creatures listed below.. as you progress in levels you should do quests for your level that way you earn some extra experience, get a better grasp on the game and make some Adena (the money used in Lineage 2)
Young Brown Keltir :: Lvl. 1 :: HP 65 :: Exp. Awarded 29
Keltir :: Lvl. 1 :: HP 63 :: Exp. Awarded 29
Brown Keltir :: Lvl. 2 :: HP 78 :: Exp. Awarded 58
At level 3 there are two quests you SHOULD take, you will be rewarded with experience while making experience completing the quest.. Head over to Sentry Nelsya on the East side of the Dark Elven village, I took the liberty of adding a small red dot on the map where she is located. Once you've gotten the Quest from her only kill Ashen Wolves and Brown Keltirs until you have 13 Dark Bezoars (quest items). Once you have 13 Dark Bezoars you should return to Sentry Nelsya and that will complete the quest. You will be awarded with a lesser healing potion and 1900 experience points.
The second quest which you should do at the same time is the 'Keen Claws' Quest. Inside the Dark Elven Village go to the weaponshop (southwest of the center). Talk to Trader Paint and accept the quest. While doing the Dark Bezoars quest killing Ashen Wolves will also reward you with wolf claws. You will most likely finish the Dark Bezoars quest first.. Don't worry when you start killing Goblins in future levels they will also reward you with Wolf Claws in a higher quantity. Once you reach 50+ wolves claws head back over to Trader Paint and you will be rewarded with more items and more Adena depending on how many wolves claws you brought back.
Quote: Quick Tip: When fighting creatures/monsters that require more than one Windstrike cast from a distance and when your done casting run away from the creature until your able to re-cast... rinse and repeat until the creature/monster is dead
It's not the smartest idea to attack things higher than your own level.
Elder Brown Keltir :: Lvl. 3 :: HP 99 :: Exp. Awarded 88
Ashen Wolf :: Lvl. 4 ::HP 111 :: Exp. Awarded 117
Don't go after goblins till your level 7. Goblins can be found in the Lime Green area of the map
Goblin :: Lvl. 5 :: HP 130 :: Exp. Awarded 147
Theres good news though! At level 7 your not stuck at fighting only goblins.. in the limegreen area.. you can head over to pink area and fight Imps and Goblins down there. Since Imps are fairly slow creatures if your good at dodging enemies while casting Windstrike from a distance then you should do this. But before you go out the western exit of the Dark Elven village talk to Sentry Krpion (located right before the cave exit of the western side of the Dark Elven Village) and get the Imp Shackles quest from him, he will pay you 5a for every Imp shackle you bring back to him. Imps usually drop 1 Imp shackles quest item every time you slay one of them. So its a better idea to head to the Pink area even though it is usually camped.. Imp Ribes are just slightly tougher than normal Imps.. be careful they will attack in groups if they see another getting attacked.
Imp :: Lvl. 6 :: HP 152 :: Exp. Awarded 176
Imp Ribe :: Lvl. 7 :: HP 171 :: Exp. Awarded 205
when fighting something that requires more than 1 windstrike there is a small downtime before you can cast again, look at the quicktab bar until you see the shaded clockwise symbol over your spell. it will flash and make a noise when its ready to be used again.
At level 9 you should be ready to kill those Forest Walking Fungus monsters that you've been seeing around the pink and purple areas of the map.. But first you may want to pick up this repeatable Quest that you will probably complete 3 times before you go onto the next area... So go ahead and head back over to the Dark Elven village and talk to Trader Vollodos in the magic shop (located directly opposite of the weapon shop). He will tell you to collect 10 Fungus Sacs from either Forest Walking Fungus or Blood Fungus monsters.. Return to Vollodos everytime you've collected 10 Fungus Sacs.. remember that your able to repeat the quest. At first you will go after Forest Walking Fungus until you are able to fight Blood Fungus... but thats not till your level 10....11...
Forest Walking Fungus :: Lvl.9 :: HP 226 :: Exp. Awarded 254
(if at level 10 you feel your not getting enough experience you can move on to the dark blue area)
once your level 11 head over the dark blue area on the map there you will find orcs and the Blood Fungus that I mentioned earlier. It's much more dangerous here.. the safest spot to retreat to is the road.. so keep that in mind... It would be wise to take the quest for the orcs as well as continuing the Fungus Sacs.
The Orc Subjugation quest is given out by Sentry Kayleen who is just outside the western dark elven village entrance. She will give you 5a for every Orc Amulet you collect and 15a for every necklace you collect from the orcs you kill. You can return at anytime to turn in the quest items and collect your money.
Blood Fungus :: Lvl.12 :: HP 314 :: Exp. Awarded 352
Orc Fighter Leader :: Lvl.12:: HP 314 :: Exp. Awarded 352
These guys will attack you on sight
Balor Orc Fighter Sub-Leader :: Lvl.11:: HP 292 :: Exp. Awarded 323
once you hit level 12 you can run down the hill past the many towers in the blue area and head over to the red area which is the swamps. Down there you should stay around the Outskirts (edges) of the swamp and you shouldnt run too far into it because there are Dark Horrors who will attack you on sight. The bats are slow and are easy kills, but they will team up with other bats if they see you fighting another bat, same applies to zombies. zombies will only cast one spell on you and walk around slowly tauntingly so keep your distance with them and use the same enemy dodging and casting from far away as mentioned in the first quicktip. Dark horrors arent as slow.. and they hit hard and fast so be careful!
Festering Bat :: Lvl.13 :: HP 338 :: Exp. Awarded 381
Marsh Zombie :: Lvl.13 :: HP 338 :: Exp. Awarded 381
Redeye Bat :: Lvl.15 :: HP 389 :: Exp. Awarded 441
Lesser Dark Horror :: Lvl.15 :: HP 402 :: Exp. Awarded 441
These guys will attack you on sight
Its always a good idea to carry a few potions around when fighting these guys because you can always get ambushed by an Orc Fighter Leader and be overwhelmed by trying to dodge multiple enemies at the same time. Also one thing that was very hard for me to learn and accept was that "its okay to not pick up the adena that dropped when your fighting more than 1 creature at a time, it may be the difference between life and death" and also its always okay to run!
the swamps should take you to level 14 easily... i hope you've found this guide useful.

Good luck.
Welcome to the world of Aden. I will be your guide through your travel from level one to twenty. I will help you to become the most ruthless and evil fighter in Aden by helping you find key quests, shops, and leveling spots. First you should go through the short but very important guide at the beginning of your adventurer. Now go, be guided, quickly dark one.
Back? Great, let’s get you started on the road to twenty. First off equip your sword and armor by hitting tab and right clicking on the armor and sword in there. Next go to the bottom right hand of your screen and click on the first button to the left. Go to the actions button under there and put attack, sit and pick up items in your hot bar too the right of your screen. Place them in the following order: 1. Attack 2.Sit 3.Pick up items. To use those just hit the corresponding F key, for attack F1, sit F2 and so on as you get more attacks and what not.
Next talk to one of the Abyssals and get the quest from them to collect fangs. Now leave the building and head out to cut up some Keltirs, your local neighborhood fox looking things. Here is where you have to make a choice, how long to kill the little furry beasts. I recommend killing only Keltirs until level six, though that may seem like a long grind and very repetitive, it’s worth it.
Killing only Keltirs, not young Keltirs or anything else, just the ones named Keltirs insures that you can keep on a steady path to six without having to sit and heal. Also, by sticking to only Keltirs you get one SP per kill which is the case for anything around there after you hit level two. Since they are such low level it will take more and more kills to level but you will always get one SP so you build up a large SP pool by the time you hit six. This will allow you to get some nice skills right away once you make it to town.
Six already? You surprise me dark one, it is obvious the dark force flows strong in you. Return to the temple and talk to the Abyssal you received your quest from. Next talk to Mitrell to receive a map and fifty SP. Leave the temple and follow the road until it come to a Y, go left. This will take you into the underground city of the Dark Elves. In the center of town is a nice piece of artwork, a giant hand, which seems to have lightning or something similar, shooting out of it. If you are facing west and the hand is in front of you then the magic shop is to your right, the warehouse to your left, weapon shop on the other side of the hand to the left and the training room up the stair to the north.
Let’s start with your skill first oh great wearer of leather. Go to the north and up the stairs into the small room at the top. Talk to one of the trainers and be prepared to make a decision. The decision at hand is what type of fighter you want to be, sword, dagger, bow, or bow/melee. I recommend the bow/melee hybrid as you can use the bow from a distance to pull your target to you while doing massive damage to them then switching to melee to finish them off.
In any case you want to make sure to get the special attack for your weapon type, Power Strike for swords, mortal blow for daggers and Power Strike for bows. Whatever your choice is make sure to get Defensive Aura after you have chosen your skills because you will need all the defense you can get.
Now that you have decided on what you want to use head to the weapon shop on the Southwest side of the town and buy the eight hundred and eighty three Adena weapon of your type. Then buy the basic armor and grab any arrows you made need if you are using a bow. While in the weapon shop talk to Trader Paint and accept the quest he has to offer.
Your next step down the dark path is to head out the West side of town. Yes, yes, I know the light burns slightly and your eyes hurt, but you must get used to the light in order to conquer it. Go to your left and follow along the wall through a small passage to a large field full of slimy goblins, stinky imps and dirty ashen wolfs. These will be your victims for the next four levels so learn their movements well.
The green things that look like Joe Peshee are goblins and the things that look like your little brother with wings are imps and they will help their fellow kind should they be close when a battle begins; the ashen wolfs on the other hand only care for themselves. A little note about your new special attacks, they may do a great amount of damage and seem really nice to open a battle with but they are even better to close a battle. Here’s the nice thing about these specials, they have something called over-hit. When you over hit something you increase the amount of XP given from the target, the lower the life of the target when you use your special the move XP bonus you get, up to twenty five percent. Learn how to use over hit effectively to level quicker.
Slay all the creatures you can and when you have fifty wolf claws head back into town to Trader Paint, on the right side as you enter town, in the weapon shop to collect your reward. You should receive some armor or Adena but in either case get the quest again and head back to the field to kill some more. Repeat this process until level ten and be proud of the stash of cash you should have.
All right, it’s now time for our first weapon quest. Return to town and go to the training room where you need to talk to Tetrarch Thifiell to receive the quest. Next go to the temple where you started at, it lies to the east of the village and talk to Abyssal Celebrant Kartia. Leave the temple and run through the Dark elf village stopping just outside the west gate.
Open your map and look for the Dark Elven Initiation Temple. That is where you need to go to find your targets. Your targets are Tumran Orc Brigands, you’ll know them when you see them, they look like football players, big, mean, greasy ugly things they are. They lay to the west of the Initiation Temple in a field but beware of the Stoppers in the area, they will attack you and eat your crispy looking butt. After you have the two parts you need head back to Abyssal Celebrant Kartia then run back to Tetrarch Thifiell in the magic shop for you reward of a eldritch dagger. Those of you using a sword might want to consider using this until your next level, but then again maybe not, its only one level.
Now to move onto another quest which will bring you even more power and money! Go to the magic shop on the Northeast side of town and speak with Trader Vollodos. He will ask you to collect fungus sacks, which will be no problem for you. After receiving the quest hit up the training room for some new skills and then head out the west exit.
Back outside? Great…well not so great since it stings a little but you must endure. Follow the road until you see a single tower on the right from here go Northwest. Kill the Walking Fungus’s in the area and once you have collected ten sacks head back to get a reward of two thousand Adena. Repeat this until level eleven and if you get enough cash buy some wooden armor off other players or out of the shop.
So dark one, you have reached eleven and are ready for your next weapon quest? Good, you are learning quickly. Return to town and talk to Blacksmith Karoyd in the weapon shop to receive the quest. Go back to the temple where you started and talk to Abyssal Celebrant Cecktinon and then return to the training room in the dark elf village where you will talk to Magister Harne. Now go to the School of Dark Arts and collect the ten bone fragments needed from Skeleton Hunters but beware they will attack you.
Now go back to Magister Harne in the training room and then head to Abyssal Celebrant Cecktinon in the temple where you started. After having talked to those two go to the swamp area Southwest of the village, or the dark splotch on your map. Kill zombies until you get a head but watch out for thinks around there that will attack you like the horrors. Finally return to Abyssal Celebrant Cecktinon and talk to him then back to Blacksmith Karoyd in the weapon shop to receive your reward of a bloodsaber.
So you have a new sword or more cash? Super, lets hope you have wooden armor by now and are ready to return to killing, the path may seem short but it is still very long and dark. Head back to the swamp and kill Bailor Orcs, Blood Fungus, and Zombies until level fifteen. Once you hit level fifteen return to town for another quest.
First talk to Magister Vlasty in the training room. Then return to the swamp and kill Lesser Dark Horrors and Dark Horrors until you get a perfect skull. Then return to Magister Vlasty for your reward of bone gaiters, nice pair of pants, but beware, equipping them will cause you to lose your life bonus from your wooden armor.
Finally we can get into some constant slaughter. Return to the swamp and continue to kill until orcs and funguses and just keep moving farther away from the Dark elf village for better XP. If you want you can grab a team and head into the School of Dark Arts also known as Soda. There are other options as well if you don’t wish to hang out in dark elf area. Open your map and follow it past the swamp and to the Elven village, this is a leveling hot spot with healers, a very active dungeon and some abundant out door mobs.
If you would like to make some cash there is a quest in town for you. Head into town and take a left immediately after you get off the bridge and head into the magic shop. Talk to the trader on the right and get the quest to collect spore sacks. Go out of town through the west gate and open your map. On the map to the south you should see Iris Lake, go to the left of there and kill Spore Fungus until you get ten spore sacs. Then return to town and give them to the trader for a reward of 2k Adena.
You can repeat this quest as much as you want and buy some new armor for yourself. Though I recommend sticking with the wooden armor for the life bonus and defense bonus, plus the stuff you can buy in this town that is above it only offers a tiny bit more defense and no life bonus. After you have finished farming money head to the crossroads and form a team of one healer and two tanks by shouting out in the all channel that you are looking for a healer and another tank around your level.
Once you have formed a team head west to the spider fields. Now, the first thing you need to know is that Hook spiders will not attack you, Crimson and Pincer Spiders will, as well the random Liriens but all are social so be careful how you pull. It’s best if you use your bow to pull Liriens out of groups of spiders and vice versa. Now kill like mad until you reach fifteen and make sure to watch for a Bow of Forest off of the Hook spiders, it’s a 150k Adena weapon and very useful for you.
Once you reach fifteen go to the west over the bridge to what is called the Neutral Area, the area between the Dark Elves and the Elf’s. Here you will find Scavenger Wererats and Arachevils and Lyconthropes. The Wererats won’t attack you but the Arachevil and Lycanthropes on the other hand will and the Arachevil has poison, which can be a real pain, make sure your healer has cure poison 1. Watch out for the Lycanthropes, best just to stay away from them as they hit pretty hard.
All targets are social and after killing so many wererats you may get a wererat chief to spawn with a couple of buddies. I didn’t have enough guts to go see if they attack but lets treat them as if the do. If this place gets too boring for you, you can always head to the elf fortress for levels, though as one Elf I know said, that place is the spawn of all evil.
Now that you have reach level twenty dark one let me be the first to say that you have by far exceeded my expectations. You have proven that you are ready to advance and become the ultimate dark warrior, step forward and be known. Congratulations and safe travels.
