Ok I am wanting to buy the Direct to Drive copy so I can play.
I am also gonna order a PC and 360 copy of the new collection.
I would be playing 3 chars. at the same time on the same ISP.
And on the same Credit Card.
I been hearing you can't do this or that while on the retail free trial.
I used to play this game about a year ago I left and I don't still have my ID
thats why new copys. Please don't flame me. I am just worried about being banned because I been reading post and people are getting banned that worries me. I don't wanna work hard on a char. then be banned. So please tell me what I can not do in my 30 day free trial please?

The bans are only on the Free trial. Not the first free month that comes with the purchase of the game.

No. It is the regular game. You just are not paying for the first month. Kind of like a small thank you for your purchase deal.

That link is about the 14 day trial, not the 30 day free period.

In that case he was using the free trial account to see if he still "felt" the game. He apparently did. So went to buy the real game. When he got back he noticed the trial was banned.

He must have done something on the trial that triggered the insta-ban system.

Has nothing to do with going out and buying the game and having 30 free days to play it.


The Ban-Bot seeks out the free trial accounts that are doing something that looks like what RMT do on those. It does not scan full accounts so "thoroughly"

Ok a while back there were hundreds and hundreds of RMT selling gardened goods to an NPC named Proud Beard in Bastok. Lots of gardeners got targeted for ban that had never broken any rules. There was a little outrage. Things were fixed. However the Ban Bot still targets people who are on THE FREE TRIAL ACCOUNT ONLY selling things to that NPC.

Avoid Proud Beard if you are fearful, I have sold dozens of things to NPC all across Vanadiel this week alone and have not been banned.

There are a few restrictions actually. Fishing and gardening for instance. But those restrictions aren't only for a 14-day trial, 30-day free account. Paid accounts have the same restriction too. I'm sure someone can shine the light on what the exact restrictions are.

Fishing I think is you have to be level 20 in a job to fish. And your character must be more than 2 weeks old? No sure if there's a and/or clause in that one.

Gardening harvests you'll only get 1 item unless your character is X amount of days old. 30 days? Not sure.

I think that's all the restrictions besides the 14-day account only being able to play in the FFXI original areas and Zilart I think?

And as for trial accounts being banned, I've had and used quite a few of the free trial accounts personally for sitting in beginner zones while my main character used to farm beginning areas with low level jobs. So that way I'd never have to go to town. It's risky, but haven't been caught yet.

Right, those are restrictions in general of the game itself. They have nothing to do with the fact you aren't paying for 30 days.

proof they should just get rid of the 14 day trials, they cause more problems then good.

Don't worry about this, either; it's paranoia. I've been playing 3 characters at the same time for 2 years, on the same ISP, using the same credit card. And I know of dozens of people doing the same thing.

Starting a Free Trail account on any of the following servers will result in a ban. I would avoid all on the list.:
